Sophie – Recruitment Manager

I joined Protect Line in May 2016 when I returned from some time travelling abroad, after working for almost 5 years in HR and Recruitment at a larger corporate competitor.

I was instantly attracted to the family values that are championed by both Directors, reflected in the product we offer, and seen through the internal close knit culture. I saw Protect Line as an opportunity to join a growing company that is fast paced, forward thinking and not afraid to challenge and break outside of the norm.

Being a smaller company where the Directors know everyone by name promotes hard work, recognition and accountability within your job role. This has allowed me to treat my role as my own ‘business-within-a-business’ and has pushed me to work outside of my comfort zone to achieve my full potential; something I’m grateful for.

My time at Protect Line has taught me how to adapt, especially coming from a larger corporate where processes are more rigid and change doesn’t happen so quickly. This transition initially was challenging for me, but I have been lucky to work with both Directors to truly understand the Protect Line ethos and what has made the business so successful.

My favourite thing about the company is the people and the culture that has been created as a result, which starts at the top level Directors and is seen throughout the management team and all staff. It is refreshing to work with driven, like-minded people and feel like you are working towards the same goal.

Having said that the work hard, play hard attitude means we have fun here too!

Since joining in a standalone role, I now manage an internal Recruitment team of 3 consultants, and separately manage our Reception team – which after 2 years’ service is a great thing to be able to say, and has given me an opportunity to give something back!

Protect Line is definitely going places and I feel lucky to have joined at the right time.
